Update

Well, a lot has happened since my last post here. Thankfully I have been able to work out a mutually satisfactory release with AGR so that is now completely behind me. I have had some interesting calls lately, so I am optimistic that 2009 will find me back in a good ride…the question is in which series?

In the meantime, I have accepted an offer from Tony George to work with his Vision Racing team in the Indycar Series as a road course consultant. Their drivers, Ed Carpenter and AJ Foyt IV both come from an oval racing background, so the idea is that some of my road racing experience could be helpful to them and the team. I was not sure what to expect going in, but I have to say I have truly enjoyed the experience so far. The drivers and crew at Vision have really welcomed me into the program, and I feel there is great potential there for the team to make the leap to challenge the Big 3 (Penske, Ganassi, and AGR) so I want to try to help them to do that.

My immediate plans are to continue in a consulting role at Vision while evaluating where the next step will be in my driving career. It’s great to be back in the Indycar paddock, almost feels like I never left, so we’ll see where it all goes. Check back as I might have some more news to report soon. Thanks, Bryan
